A tablet full of possibilities.
My first iPad held my notes and sketches. As a student, I wanted to write Python and analyse biological data on it, too. I couldn’t find the IDE I was looking for.

Mecury / A parallel life
I'm Zhi. A scientist with more than one life in mind. This is where I start building the others.

The first chapter
An old wish. A very real app.
It began with a student, an iPad, and a question: why couldn’t I do my Python work here?
Vibeit is my answer.

01 / How Vibeit began
My first iPad held my notes and sketches. As a student, I wanted to write Python and analyse biological data on it, too. I couldn’t find the IDE I was looking for.
That thought never quite left. I began turning it into Vibeit: a real workspace for code, notebooks, and scientific exploration, right on the device.
M-series chips bring more computing power to iPad. Vibeit gives that power a place in my everyday work, and gives an old idea a future beyond me.
02 / The other lives
I am a molecular and computational biologist, and an Imperial College London graduate. I love science. I also wonder about the worlds I haven’t lived in: medicine, law, acting, music.
Mecury is the name I gave one of those parallel lives. In my spare time, I get to begin it — one piece of software at a time.

Start with Vibeit. See where your curiosity takes you.
